Regarding FATE: I think fate, even destiny are real universe factors..don't you think? You kind of know it when you're in a fateful time. It's a bit like surfing, you don't create the wave, you just look for it, feel it and ride it as best you can. You also have to be careful of a "wipeout"! I've experienced bullet proof attitudes on fate rolls, it never ends well...tossed up on the beach, bruised and half drowned. Yes, I have made the same mistakes more than once - such a putz!

I am riding a fateful event series even now. Amazing career twists have fallen upon me, but this time I am cautious, proclaiming my enthusiasm based vulnerability, trying not to get too tricky...no "hanging ten" this time. I'll provide more details as the surf subsides. Look for "a funny thing happened on the way to retirement".
Speaking of mistakes and bad judgement: I've often thought about the errors (often horrible errors) born of ignorance that we as individuals and as a collective society have made (and make). Racial prejudice...as a child growing up, I just didn't get it...separate water fountains, separate bathrooms, schools, entrances to restaurants...all seemed to be just "the way it is". How horrible. Thank God, some (few at the time) could see the ignorance of our ways and initiate some long term change. Astonishingly, some among us still don't get it.
The list of traditional ignorance born atrocities is long, too long and continues! Obviously we are not over the hump of racial prejudice at home or around the world, but strides have clearly been made. Gender prejudice, religious prejudice, AGE prejudice continues. and plenty more that I am too ignorant to list.

I do wonder what I (we) are blind to just now. What are the issues that we will look back on in a decade or so and say, "how ignorant we were then"? Planet sabotage may well be a big one. I remember growing up, we just through trash out on the highways, somehow thinking the earth would soak it all up. Until finally we noticed our land looked a mega mess from our misuse. Still today we have to have "Don't mess with Texas" campaigns and the like to help us with our ignorance. Are our eyes closed wide open again?
What do you reckon we are doing to the planet? Are we going to bake ourselves out of existence with our ignorance. Send me a note would you? Tell me what you think? Tell me what you think it is we are missing now. Where is our major blind spot? Economic prejudice, human rights, water conservation? What are the issues we are missing while we are so busy fussing over probably less important things.
With all of that said, I think I'll stop rambling. I've written on moderation before, so I won't re-preach in full, but I will say, that I will be surfing fate and attempting to reap the benefits in moderation. I will do what I can to moderate my abuse of the planet. I will take a moderate listen to both sides of issues, including the causes of global climate change. I may move to a more moderate climate, if I can find it. I'd like to give some effort to helping cure the causes of poverty and the prejudice that is associated with it.
I will not moderately tolerate hatred or other vile behaviors born of ignorance.
